Project 1b
This was an individual project, whereby I had to produce an A2 size board manually based on the concept and spatial organization analysis in architecture language. Each member from a team (refering to project 1), was required to choose minimum 3 types of spatial organization analysis. Hence, I chose Circulation, Public Vs. Private and Hierarchy. On top of these three analysis, our A2 board also must include plan, section, analysis diagram, and sketches. We could also add in a few sketches of the significant details relating to Luxor temple's architecture such as, the obelisk, statues, papyrus columns, etc.
From this project, I have yet again learnt to improve my sketching skill as well as understand more on the architecture components from the spatial organization analysis.
Project 1c
Project 1C required us to carry out this task as a group of four again. This time, we were required to build a 3D scale model from balsa wood as well as to present the model and the previos A2 board verbally. All this was to see our understanding about the architecture as well as to help us to communicate verbally when presenting an idea or opinion. Therefore, in the process, Ive learnt to improve my presentation skill as well as gaining more confidence when voicing out my opinions or presenting.
Besides, we were able to learn and work together as a team and managed to succesfully carry out our task well as well as completing everything in time. Practically, I have also learnt to handle balsa wood the right way, like cutting and sticking.
Architecture Culture & History 1
Project 1a
In a group of 4, we were assigned to do a research on the precedent study as well as to type out a 500 word essay. My teammates were Cheah Eevon, Kristine Yong and Chuah Wei Hong. After disccusing, we decided to choose Luxor Temple, which is an Egyptian Architecture.
From this project, I have discovered and learnt new things about Egyptian architecture. Besides, I also managed to discover new names and functionality of the different types of architectural structures on Luxor Temple as well as how the architecture began. The image shown on the left is actually a part of the celebration of the Opet Festival in Thebes and also the reason why Luxor temple was originally built for.
